Two Ponzanesi of Playlife Sports attended the Sahara' 100km.
PONZANO.
They left from Malpensa airport, Milan, two ponzanesi of the Playlife Sports Runners , whom will take part from the 9th March in the 100 km. Through Sahara desert, it is an extreme competition for Runners, in 4 stages, with more than 100 participants coming all over the Globe.
We are talking about Mr. Giorgio Gottardo, 50 y.o., involved in car sales and city councilman in Ponzano, he attended around 20 marathons yet, including New York, Venice, Treviso ones, and Mr.Stefano Adinolfi, 48 y.o., whom have always been hair stylist and attended around 15 marathons yet.
100 km. in the Sahara is at its won 22nd edition, it is all through Tunisian desert for a total of 103 km, in 4 stages and 7 days. Starting line is in Khsar Ghilane: first stage will be in the half marathon distance,2nd one of 18, 3rd one of 42m therefore it is a proper truly marathon, 4th one is 22 km., final arriving to Douz. Runners should go across the wholly Saharan desert, from South-East to North-West. This is a trail-running adventure trophy, that is correctly considered a truly fight. In the running extreme World.
“It was since a long time – Mr. Giorgio Gottardo told – before leaving for Milan Malpensa airport, that I would try this extreme running. In case my friend Stefano Adinolfi had not been coming, I had not not been attending it for sure. Running through the desert is insane yet, it is necessary to think about the safe kit, then, as well as water refurnishing, which is not supplied by the organizer, but in the other marathons. Also, thinking about ending a stage means, sleeping in a tend, it is necessary to be beside somebody could help and support you, then, especially during such extreme and mad trophy”.
As Gottardo can be proud of his own 3 hours and 54 minutes best time, in the desert the only goal is to reach to the arriving line.
Adinolfi and Gottardo come to Tunisia after long and very hard training sessions, up and down through Montello hills. Participation to the Sahara 100 km. Was presented, during the last days, at restaurant “Trattoria da Sergio”, in Ponzano, where Playlife Sports President, Mr. Leo Massolin has supported them with his own sponsor and advertising, he has also encouraged their dream, in name of the sports club also in the Tunisian Desert sand at the same time, the runners has presented the official running jacket, which will be weared during all the event.
